Say hey to Harley and Zoey!

WooHoo! I have the neatest buddies in the world! This is Zoey. She has a big brother named Harley, and I'll get his pic up here soon. They are too cool!

Today's been kinda quiet. I've had three walks, but mostly it's been boring. I hate to sound ungrateful, but I wish there were more little people around the house, and if I can't have those I'd like someone like me. I'm pretty sure my mistress would go along with that, but I don't think the Big Guy would. Sometimes I think he thinks he made a mistake with me, but he seems to like having me around. Usually.

It's awfully hot around here. Good think my people keep it cool. I'm sure they'd buy me a little swimming pool, if I liked getting wet. Which I don't. I know - I'm a Lab, but there must be a part of me that hates water so I stay as far away as I can.

Bark at ya later,

Go, Willie Bean Roscoe P. Coltrane!

In Fairhope, Ala. there's a fellow pooch running for mayor, and I want all of you to send your good thoughts to this adorable (and competent!) yellow labrador.

That's right, I'm throwing my considerable weight behind Willie Bean. He's got what it takes to hold public office - honesty, intelligence, a willingness to learn, unflagging loyalty, and he isn't fussy when it comes to a fancy office. Any ol' pillow on the sofa will do just fine.

Anyway, I want you to type Willie's name into Google and read all about this crusader, this brave pooch who's putting his heart and soul into his run for mayor!

A shout out to Missy B., and upcoming council meetin'

It was nice to hear from Missy B! I hope to hear from more of my friends in the coming weeks and months - after all, friends make the world go 'round, right?

The picture today is of a bunny rabbit (again, MMMMmmm!) taken by my mistress. I wasn't anywhere around when she took the pic, because let's face it, she wouldn't have been able to hold her camera steady with me dragging her toward that tasty treat.

Actually, I don't travel well in the car and I think it's because I'm afraid My People are taking me back to the shelter. Don't ask me why I'm afraid of that, but I am. I get barfy, and usually toss my cookies in the back seat. Nobody yells at me, they just feel sorry for me and clean up the mess. Nice folks.

Anyway, enjoy the picture and come back and visit. I hear lots of people are going to be talking about the new pet ordinance at the council meeting tonight. I'll be watching, so our leaders had better be on their best behavior.

'Til next time,

Mmmm. Squirrel.

Here's a squirrel snack. 'Course my master won't let me get to them, though if I wasn't on a leash all the time, I'd show them a thing or two or three.

It's been a long day. I've been on three walks around the park, and I'd love to get to know Aerial, our firehouse dog. I haven't been allowed to play with her yet, but someday I will. She seems nice.

My name is Sarah Jane

Here I am, people!

The name is Sarah Jane. I'm a rescue from the animal shelter in Galesburg, Illinois.

My people found me there one early Sunday afternoon. The woman was looking for a Malamute or a Husky because her dog Max, a Malamute-mix had gone to doggy Heaven on Mother's Day. She was very sad about that; she just wanted her buddy back.

I'm a lot different than Max. I heard that Max was aloof, liked having her own space, and only tolerated being petted now and then. And, Max was only 45 pounds.

I was just a whisper under 30 pounds when these two Kewanee people found me. Today, I weigh 90 pounds. I'm a lot of dog for these two, because let's face it, they're not spring chickens. (Just so you know, I LOVE chicken.)

Anyway, I'll write more later. I'm inviting my other buds to come to my blog and chat, so come back often and you can visit, too.

Woof,

Sarah Jane
